Woronora Dam

If riding around the Woronora Dam is on your must-do list, maybe you can cross it off. It’s an hour and half south of Sydney, surrounded by the Heathcote National Park. After my recent ride to lovely historic Cataract Dam, I was expecting more as they are usually magnificent structures. However, the Woronora Dam Road is narrow, has no bike lane, all the trails are locked, and the dam is not one you might describe as aesthetically pleasing. Still, it was an interesting if short ride at less than 10kms, so I’m sharing a few photos to save you the trip.

But first: I was riding through the picnic grounds and about to ride over what looked like a one metre long black stick. Suddenly, it almost jumped onto my bike, then decided the tree was more friendly. Good call.
