This is the first grand loop of the Beaches since lockdown, and while I would not normally recommend this ride on a weekend in Summer, the Weather Bureau said today was the last good day for a week. So off I went at 8am for a three hour tour of heaven.
You can start this loop from any direction or from Manly Wharf. On the outbound leg, I stayed close to the harbour, beaches, headlands, and lagoons. On the return leg I went via the Warriewood Wetlands and Narrabeen Lake then up to Beacon Hill and Frenchs Forest thus avoiding most of the mid-morning crowds around the beaches.
The Northern Beaches is, IMO, the most bike-friendly region in the State. Its safe and scenic everywhere you go and the locals are very friendly towards the two-wheeling crowd. The following pics show some of the visual delights of this area, the GoPro video shows a few more in motion, and the Strava map shows the ride details. Enjoy.

Looks like a great ride. Was it all on the road. Are there many shared paths in the area? Elaine

Not one part was on road Elaine. There is a network of shared paths, trails, and sparsely used footpaths. I dont ride roads: period.
