Looking for a fun ride thats different? Then load you bike onto a train, ferry, or car and head for the northern end of the Harbour Bridge where you find the Milsons Point area. On this occasion, I rode from the Northern Beaches on quiet back streets and footpaths, passing Milson Park and the Ensemble Theatre, but you can approach from any direction.

As you approach The Bridge, there are iconic photo-ops everywhere, such as these views from the Beulah St Wharf in Kirribilli.

As you approach the Harbour Bridge from ground level, its scale and architectural magnificence can be overwhelming.

From the sublime to the ridiculous: Luna Park and surrounds never fail to amuse.

The boardwalk path leads to pretty little Lavender Bay, and from there it was another 15 mins around to Balls Head Reserve.

You can enjoy this as a leisurely 1-2 hour ‘explore the Milsons Point area’ or make it a destination for a longer ride. Either way it is fun, safe and very scenic.
