The Spit/Mosman/Middle Head area makes for a spectacular and hilly ride, but for electric assisted bikes thats not a problem. A mid-morning mid-week ride will see very little traffic, except for Balmoral beach. This particular ride started at the Spit, then dropped by Chinaman’s Beach before climbing up to Mosman then descending to Balmoral.

From Balmoral, its a few steep hills to Georges Heights and Middle Head, with views out to Manly and Watsons Bay. There is a rugged track going down to the secluded Coblers Beach and a challenging ascent back up to the headland to the heritage military installations. Some stunning views over Sydney Harbour and short visit to Gunners Barracks before heading back via The Spit Reserve.

Hi Richard
Well done, I just did a version of this ride today ……shame I never seen you.
Where about is the very last section of the ride on the cycle path ?
I’m not sure what you do you’re video editing software is …….have you thought of having a short piece of type on the sections of video that corresponds to the vision , this can be done easily with an adjustment layer ? – just a thought .
I’m pretty sure it has crossed your mind.
If you ever need any advise regarding video editing/software etc I would be happy to help.
I’ve spent many years as in the video/photography world.
My quest for an Ebike goes on.
The is almost no stock of most models at the moment.
I have my eye on a Earth T-Rex Mixie from SEB however, there is no stock till after June.
I have rented a NCM Milano Plus for the week from Move bikes, Lucas is a really nice guy who runs the place.
It’s true the hills don’t exists with an Ebike.
Off to Kissing Point by Ferry tomorrow around to Sydney Olympic village on my regular bike tomorrow as I’m riding with someone who doesn’t have an Ebike.
I tend to bace most of my Ebike and regular rides around the ferry and the light rail.
Cheers for now

Thanks Jim; I’m only now learning to insert text signposts onto my clips. I use iMovie with minimal editing; I just stitch together lots of 10sec clips, nip and tuck a few beginnings and endings, and its done. I simply forgot with the Middle Head video, thinking everyone knows the area. Silly. PS: re your ebike search, I have my beloved Merida for sale, but I dont think its what you are looking for. Its on Gumtree at

Hi Richard
Yes, keep it simple as far as editing goes.
You’re right about your bike ,not for me at this stage.
I’m after more of a commuter bike.
I assume you will be purchasing another bike ?
Did you see the write up on Ebikes in Saturday’s Herald ?
The article had a decent run on the virtues of Ebikes.

I’ve already got my 2021 version of the same bike. Yes, Jake must be pleased with that writeup; he has been a pioneer in the ebike revolution, so its well deserved.
