Parramatta River Cycleway

Most regular riders in Sydney knnow about the iconic Parramatta Cycleway, but if you dont then this post is especially for you.

After several months of being in Covid lockdown, it was a joy to let my wheels loose along the wide shared path on the Parramatta River. I left my car in Morrison Bay Park and set out along the river to Parramatta then on to the Parramatta Park. From there, I headed back via the Olympic Precinct in Homebush Bay.

There is a certain zen feeling about coasting on a long uninterrupted cycleway, enjoying the views, without traffic. A most enjoyable 40kms in about two and a half hours, with lots of options for coffee stops.

The ten minute GoPro video below will give you a feel for what to expect. You can start from any point depending where you live, and shorten or lengthen in any of several directions. Now that lockdown is over, the cycleway is free of crowds and waiting to be enjoyed. More information and photos from the last time I rode this circuit in the pre-lockdown era at https://ebikerdiary.com/2021/06/04/homebush-bay-parramatta-cycleway/
